Powerzinc Electric Corp. is pleased to announce that Mr. Rob Canizares and Mr. Peter Pickrill of MSA, one of the largest providers of the mining lamp, mine safety appliances, visited Powerzinc Electric (Shanghai) Corp. on August 6, 2003. Mr. Canizares, President of International business, and Mr. Pickrill, Vice President of Asia Pacific Region carefully explored the application to the mining lamp of the zinc-air fuel cell Powerzinc developed.

Executive Vice President of Powerzinc, Mr. Herbert Yuen introduced the unique features, unction indexes, and business operation model of the zinc-air fuel cell to the visitors, who showed strong interest in the zinc-air fuel cell’s high specific energy, small size, light weight, and low cost. They agreed that the afore-mentioned features of Powerzinc’s DQFC zinc-air fuel cell could really decrease miners’ burden and increase the tools they are able to carry and eventually their products. In addition, Miners’ safety is also more secured through application of various sensor and detrimental air detectors, they said. Both sides also studied the future operation and maintenance of zinc-air fuel cell’s application to the mining lamp field. The two sides also agree to strengthen exchanges of information so as to develop new and environmental friendly zinc-air fuel cell mining lamp that accord with the international standard.
